The government of India is offering generous subsidies to ensure each home has a working toilet and each village has underground gutters to improve sanitation conditions. In order to make the most of the government’s assistance, we have started contributing initial funding and working with local volunteers to start building toilets and gutters.
Last three years, many of our community members from the USA, have contributed about 50% towards building 1000 toilets in about 10 villages of Dhoraji Taluka and the surrounding area. Many people from Rajkot, originally from these villages are helping in executing this project under KPSNA/PCA direction.
The main idea is to ensure each home should have toilet facility in a village we select. Majority of these homes belongs to poor families, which help achieve KPSNA’s overall objectives to help families who are in need.
