PLAYING OUR ROLE OF HUMANITYIn India, the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic hit like a tsunami. Hundreds of thousands of people were dying due to the lack of oxygen and basic healthcare facilities. Due to the great number of patients, hospitals across the country experienced shortages of supplies, including beds, staff, emergency transportation vehicles, and immediate oxygen supply. The KPSNA team stepped in to directly communicate with many COVID centers and NGOs to aid in combating the COVID-19 crisis. We were able to save hundreds of lives.
Here are some highlights of work we did during this unprecedented situation in India:
- Provided 100 beds COVID care facility in Sidsar, Gujarat
- Served 20 other COVID care centers, PHCs, and CHCs
- Supplied 250 Oxygen concentrators & voltage converters
- Acquired 175 Oxygen cylinders from local area and distributed to hospital & care centers
- Supplied 4 ventilators
- Supplied 500 Pulse oximeters
- Purchased 4 ambulances to provide transportation to the patients in a rural area
- Provided 2 multi-purpose vehicles to local NGOs to help food & grocery distribution
- Distributed 1000+ grocery kits
- Distributed food packages to underprivileged families
- Provided financial aid to 110 COVID-19 affected families
- Provided 60 sewing machines to widows
- Provided 33 bicycles to orphan kids
- Sponsored kitchen facility for Working Women & Outpatients’ Hostel
- Committed to provide financial aid for medical / surgery / lab work patients
- Provided thousands of PPE supplies in various COVID care centers
- Held educational webinars with local COVID care facilities and US experts to discuss the following of proper guidelines, in order to maximize the effect of treatments
