Q. What is the KPSNA Student Excellence Award?
· The award recognizes a student from our community and promotes their excellence in youth as they grow up to become one of the most valued citizens.
Q. Who can apply for the award?
· U.S. students with a parent or guardian who is a KPSNA member. Eligible students must be high school seniors or graduates entering college during the award year.
Q. When is the application deadline?
· Applications will be accepted from April 1st to August 31st.
Q. What is included in the award?
· The award includes three cash prizes: $2500, $1500, and $1000.
· A Certificate of Excellence will be awarded to the top three most accomplished students.
· Winners will be recognized on the KPSNA website.
Q. What are the minimum academic requirements to apply?
· A minimum SAT combined score of 1430 out of 1600. For students taking the ACT, refer to the Princeton Review ACT vs. SAT conversion table.
· A minimum of 4 AP tests (in any subject) with an overall average score of 4.
· A minimum GPA equivalent to 3.6 on a 4.0 scale.
· Active participation in at least three well-recognized extracurricular activities for a minimum of one year in each, with an average of two years in total.
· A minimum of 3 notable awards, honors, and/or recognitions.
Q. When will the winners be notified?
· Winners will be notified in approximately 3 to 4 weeks after the application deadline.
